Three-day programme bundling Halal Certification Body Convention (HCBC), International Halal Technical Capacity Development Programme (IHTCDP) and The Global Halal Talk dinner. Halal-specific hospitality details for Muslim attendees
GHaS is positioned by JAKIM as the flagship halal-diplomacy platform under the Government of Malaysia. Programme structure (HCBC + IHTCDP + TGHT) is built end-to-end for foreign halal certification body staff and Shariah/regulator audiences — making it more of a B2G/B2B halal-governance summit than a consumer-facing expo.

The Global Halal Summit (GHaS) is a premier international gathering hosted by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). The three-day summit, held in Kuala Lumpur at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) with VIP sessions at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, brings together global halal certification bodies, Shariah experts, government leaders, and industry stakeholders for dialogue, training, collaboration, and trade expansion. GHaS is positioned as the flagship halal-diplomacy platform under the Government of Malaysia, drawing delegates from over 40 countries including the GCC, ASEAN, EU and OIC. The 2025 theme — 'Integrity, Sustainability, Resilience' — reflects the urgent need for harmonised halal governance, improved technical capacity, and stronger inter-regional partnerships. The DB row's 2026-09-21..09-22 dates point to the next forthcoming edition; the official site at scrape time still carries the 2025 programme.
“Through GHaS, we aim to not only advance Malaysia's leadership in halal but to strengthen the entire global halal infrastructure. We welcome all partners to converge and collaborate. — YBhg. Dato' Dr. Sirajuddin bin Suhaimee, Director General, JAKIM”

Muslim Traveller Guide
Kuala Lumpur is one of the easiest cities in the world for a Muslim business traveller. Malaysia is a Muslim-majority country, so halal food is the default rather than the exception, and prayer rooms (surau) are standard in malls, office towers and transport hubs. The main expo venues — the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in the city centre and MITEC near Jalan Duta — are both well served by rail and ride-hailing. English is widely spoken, and most hotels provide a qibla marker and a prayer mat on request.

GHaS 2025 was hosted at two locations: Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC, Kuala Lumpur — Malaysia's largest exhibition centre) for the main programme, and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur for selected VIP sessions and gatherings. Note: the DB row currently lists 'Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre' as venue — this may be a row-quality issue if 2026 venue stays as MITEC. Flag for editorial review.
Use Grab rather than hailing street taxis — fixed up-front pricing avoids fare disputes.
Getting here
Most halal-expo buyers and exhibitors fly in from the world's main halal hubs. Here's how to reach Kuala Lumpur from each — entry rules vary by nationality, so check the Visa & entry note.
