The inaugural Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference 2024 was held 30 August - 1 September 2024 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. Per Indonesia's Directorate General of National Export Development (Ditjen PEN, Ministry of Trade), the conference theme was 'Shaping the Future: Strengthening Indonesia's Trade Policy and Global Partnerships', and the government cited that Indonesia's halal product export potential grew 10.95% over 2019-2023 across food & beverage, modest fashion, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Speakers/participants named include Arief Wibisono (Director of Market Development and Export Information) and the ambassadors of Cyprus (Nikos Panayiotou), Sri Lanka (Jayanath Colombage) and Spain (Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda).
