USD 22.8 billion in transactions — record 40th edition (2025)
The 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (October 2025) recorded USD 22.8 billion in transactions — far above its USD 16.5 billion target — drawing 8,045 international buyers from 131 countries and 34,550 total visitors, with 1,619 exhibitors. Top buyer markets were Malaysia, China, India, Nigeria and Egypt. As the world's largest Muslim-majority economy and a leading halal-product exporter, Indonesia's national trade expo is a major halal-sourcing platform. Jakarta is effortless for Muslim travellers — Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim-majority country, so halal food is the default, mosques and musalla are everywhere (including the vast Istiqlal Mosque), and prayer times structure the day. Traffic is heavy, so plan around the MRT, commuter rail and ride-hailing (Gojek and Grab).
Getting in
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK)
• Airport Rail Link — ~50 min to BNI City / Manggarai (avoids road traffic)
• Grab / Gojek / taxi — 60-90 min (heavily traffic-dependent)
Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP)
• Grab / Gojek — 30-60 min (smaller airport)
Getting around
The MRT Jakarta north-south line, TransJakarta BRT buses and KRL commuter rail help you skip the traffic.
Stored-value cards work on the MRT, TransJakarta and KRL.
Gojek/Grab (cars and motorbike taxis) are the easiest way around; Blue Bird is a reliable metered taxi.
